The Beirão formula was created in the 19th century and remains a secret of the Redondo family until today. Still without the name Beirão,
the liquor was already made in the village of Lousã, in a pharmacy, more than a century ago. It is at Quinta do Meiral, in Lousã, that
the son and grandchildren of the founder make this liqueur's magic flavour and aroma last in time. Part of the aromatic plants and
seeds used in its manufacture are produced here, allowing for total control of its quality.

MACERATION & DISTILLATION
The maceration is the first step for the production of Beirão. A secret recipe of 13 ingredients, plants and aromatic seeds is prepared
manually and rests until each ingredient releases its characteristic properties and aromas and reaches the ideal taste. Afterwards,
a double distillation is made in copper stills.
